Yes — Daylily is mildly toxic to dogs
Daylilies are extremely dangerous to cats — any part of the plant, including pollen or vase water, can cause fatal acute kidney failure within 24-72 hours. Dogs are only mildly affected with GI upset.
Symptoms in Dogs
If your dog eats Daylily, watch for these symptoms (onset: 6 to 12 hours):
- Vomiting
- Lethargy
- Kidney failure (cats)
- Loss of appetite
- Death (cats)

CATS: Veterinary emergency — daylilies cause fatal kidney failure in cats. Even pollen contact requires immediate vet care. DOGS: Monitor, mild GI upset only.
