Yes — Delphinium is severely toxic to dogs
Delphinium (and its annual relative Larkspur) contain neuromuscular blocking alkaloids. Young plants and seeds are most toxic. A common cottage garden flower that is extremely dangerous to pets. Known to kill livestock.
Symptoms in Dogs
If your dog eats Delphinium, watch for these symptoms (onset: 1-6 hours):
- Muscle tremors
- Stiffness
- Weakness
- Bloating
- Cardiac failure
- Respiratory paralysis
