Poison Hemlock grows wild along roadsides and ditches and resembles wild carrot. All parts are lethal. Death results from ascending paralysis of the respiratory muscles.

Symptoms in Dogs

If your dog eats Poison Hemlock, watch for these symptoms (onset: 30 minutes to 2 hours):

  • Trembling
  • Excessive salivation
  • Dilated pupils
  • Paralysis
  • Respiratory failure

Veterinary emergency. Can cause respiratory paralysis and death. No specific antidote.
