Mother of Millions produces tiny plantlets along its leaf edges that readily spread. All Kalanchoe species contain cardiac glycosides, but this one is particularly dangerous due to the many tiny plantlets that can be easily ingested by curious pets.

Symptoms in Dogs

If your dog eats Mother of Millions, watch for these symptoms (onset: 1 to 6 hours):

  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Abnormal heart rhythm
  • Collapse
  • Seizures

What To Do

EMERGENCY: Contains cardiac glycosides similar to digitalis. Seek immediate emergency vet care. Heart monitoring will be required.
