Panda Plant is a fuzzy succulent with soft gray-green leaves edged in brown. Like all Kalanchoe species, it contains bufadienolides (cardiac glycosides). Small amounts cause GI upset; large ingestions can affect heart rhythm, especially in cats.
Symptoms in Dogs
If your dog eats Panda Plant, watch for these symptoms (onset: 2 to 12 hours):
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Abnormal heart rhythm
- Weakness
- Collapse (large amounts)
What To Do
Contact vet. Kalanchoe species contain cardiac glycosides. While small nibbles usually cause GI upset only, larger ingestions can cause cardiac arrhythmias.
