Despite its delicate appearance, Lily of the Valley is extremely toxic. It contains over 30 cardiac glycosides. Even the water in a vase containing these flowers can poison a pet. Not related to True Lilies but equally dangerous.
Symptoms in Dogs
If your dog eats Lily of the Valley, watch for these symptoms (onset: 1-4 hours):
- Vomiting
- Irregular heartbeat
- Low blood pressure
- Disorientation
- Seizures
- Coma

EMERGENCY. Immediate vet care required. Cardiac monitoring essential. Similar treatment to Foxglove/Oleander poisoning.
