Is Mandevilla Toxic to Dogs?
Yes — Mandevilla is mildly toxic to dogs
Mandevilla is a tropical vine with large trumpet-shaped flowers. While it belongs to the Apocynaceae family (same as highly toxic Oleander), Mandevilla is significantly less toxic. It causes mild GI upset rather than the cardiac effects of its relatives.
Symptoms in Dogs
If your dog eats Mandevilla, watch for these symptoms (onset: 1 to 4 hours):
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Mild GI upset
What To Do
Monitor at home. Mandevilla is only mildly toxic despite being in the same family as Oleander. Contact vet if symptoms persist.
