Pothos is one of the most common houseplants and unfortunately toxic to pets. The trailing vines are especially tempting for cats to bat at and chew. Consider hanging it well out of reach or replacing with a non-toxic trailing plant.
Symptoms in Dogs
If your dog eats Pothos, watch for these symptoms (onset: Immediate to 1 hour):
- Oral irritation
- Drooling
- Vomiting
- Difficulty swallowing
What To Do
Rinse mouth with water. Monitor for signs of distress. Usually resolves without treatment.
