Houseplants That Are Dangerous to Cats
These common houseplants can cause severe illness or death in cats. Remove them from your home if you have cats:
Tips for Cat Owners With Houseplants
Even with non-toxic plants, some cats are determined chewers. To discourage nibbling: place plants on high shelves, use hanging planters, provide cat grass as an alternative, or use citrus-scented deterrent sprays near plants.
If your cat eats a large amount of any plant material — even non-toxic plants — they may experience mild stomach upset simply from the fiber. This is normal and typically resolves within 24 hours.
